Bayesian maximum entropy integration of ozone levels and age-adjusted mortality rate in California

This is a class project where I used spatial analysis and Bayesian modeling in MATLAB to explore the distribution of ozone concentration across California and kriging estimates of mortality rate of Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease (CLRD). Based on the results, clusters of comparatively highest estimated mortality rate is observed in the South Coast and San Joaquin along with Sacramento valley and Mountain counties air basins. Comparison of the mortality rate obtained using the state and county average show that using county average data reflect more local spatial variability. The patterns of the mortality rate resembles the ozone concentration pattern across the days in 2019.
