PRABISHA SHRESTHA
About ME
I recently earned my Ph.D. in Geography and Environment from UNC-Chapel Hill, where my research focused on household energy dynamics in rural Nepal. My doctoral work examined community forest dependency for fuelwood, the progression of household energy transitions, and the health impacts of indoor air pollution on women and children. I hold a B.Sc. in Environmental Science (major) and Public Health (minor) from the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, Bangladesh, and an M.Sc. in Forestry with a specialization in Hydrology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Additionally, I earned a Graduate Certificate in Business Intelligence from Colorado State University. Prior to my Ph.D., I contributed to research projects exploring natural resource use and the environmental impacts of human activities. My work spanned diverse topics, including assessing land cover change from surface coal mining in Eastern Kentucky and evaluating military training land impacts at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
